Ashby is Officially 2

2nd Birthday Party #2
Here is our birthday Girl! With both cheeks painted playing out back in on the grass. Our family and friends gathered with us here in Orem at the house. We had a handful of neighborhood friends and they each had a chance to make their own "party" hat, get their face painted and just have fun. We sang, had cake and ice cream and had presents. Overall I'd say that turning 2 seems more fun then turning 1. Enjoy some of our snapshots.
Singing and Cake
You can sing along if you'd like! :)

She Blew out the Candle! Horse Cake Loved being sang to!

Present Time!
The high pile of presents were much appreciated. She loves everything. But what I loved best were the tons of tissue paper used in wrapping. Did you know it is fun to stand under like falling leaves? Ashby Loved it

Friends and Family
Cute and Smileing faces

Lots of love.

Grandpa Ken and Uncle Preston where also there, I just failed to get them in photos. Aunt Amy and Uncle Jason left on dates! Anyway, it was fun to celebrate and to feel the love that we share in children.

Ashby's Early Celebration. A Picnic Party!

Ashby's 1st, 2nd Birthday!
May 24th

Because Nana and Papa won't be able to make it out to Utah for her real birthday, we had to celebrate early! What was orignally planned to be a picnic on the beach ended up in the backyard due to cold almost raining weather. We still had lots of fun.
Here Daddy is showing her how to Celebrate!

Happy Happy Birthday Wind..I mean Ashby

The little Ice Cream Dress

The Perfect Gift
So Ashby and I are visiting Nana and Papa in Santa Barbara for a little while and one of the perks of being a grandma is that you can give your grandchildren gifts of love at any point. The adorable Neopolitan colored dress below is one of those grandma/Nana gifts.

A silly little Lady.

Congradulations to the Newlyweds
A family friend, Chad Mills, got married so we had occasion to wear such a darling outfit! The reception was held on the beach in and beautifully decorated. There were many familiar and happy faces and several fun children for Ashby to run about and play with.
Mommy and her girl.

Me, McKay, David, Ian and Tracy catch up.

My Favorite Girl
Ever Curious

Playful

as Ashby would say,
"See ya, Bye!"

I sometimes wish she could stay like this forever! Even though there are hard moments, she is in fact my favorite girl!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Now, for those of you don't know...I'm not Mexican or of other hispanic decent. I am, however a native to southern California. So, Cinco de Mayo is a day for a fiesta! Ashby and I didn't spend the day slaving over the meal in the kitchen all day, but we did have tomales and nachos for our dinner. NO party is complete without some fun companeros so we invited our cousins over. Larry and Trine and Leyna came with the nachos, lots of creativity and excitment for a fun evening. The highlight of the night was Larry's singing skills. Leyna dressed up in her daddy's costume...very funny, a home made pinata and of course the desert!

Everyone looking happy with their dulces from the pinata!

Ashby thought that the box was more for
laughing at then hitting, so daddy came to help her out.

Ashby and Leyna being buddies

Home made pinata! Thanks for thinking of it Trine! Our girls loved it!

LOS DULCES!!! Bien hecho Leyna!

For those how want to make their own amazing pinata of fun, just reuse that old cereal box before you recycle it! It sure was a fun and creative way for us all to be together!
Look up at the camera Ashby!

First Hair Cut

Ashby got here first today.

Ashby was such a good girl, she didn't cry at all.

It's not a lot, but it was kind of exciting for us as parents.

Month of Grandpa Birthdays

What would you do if you woke up on your birthday and people told you, it's April 1st and there's snow outside! You'd think haha, April fools right! Well this morning that is exactly what Grandpa Ken woke to. Snow! It's April, where are all the spring flowers! Well, this is what we got here in Utah!

Snow on the Trees!

Ice hanging from the branches!

So we had some snow days and decided that we would need to get out and do some playing! But before long, the winter snows melted and we were left with beautiful April Flowers like these.
Grandpa Loveless had Ashby by his side the entire celebration from gifts and games to songs and blowin' out of the candles! Happy Birthday Grandpas!

Things that Grandmas and Nanas like best!

With few opportunities to spend time with Ashby's many, loving Grandmas, I thought the next best thing having their grand-baby is getting to see lots of cute pictures and videos. So to those of you who aren't feeling Grandmotherly....or auntish or of course the male version of either of these, then stop by later when I've a newer post up. Thanks Enjoy

Bubble Baths, A Costume Hat, and Smiles

One of Ashby's favorite thing to do with Daddy...be SIlly!

Yes, you did see pictures of this day, but I just love how sincerely she states how many shirts she is wearing!
